Revival is the act of bringing back to consciousness, strength, health or earlier state, "… And I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at tour beginning" (Ezekiel 36:11c).
One cannot restore what has not been in existence. Initially revival will bring back to life that which is dying. The church today needs revival fire, just as prophet Habakkuk was perplexed at the sins of Israel against God, that made him to go on fire prayer for God to revive his work.
"O LORD, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the year, in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make know; in wrath remember mercy" (Hab. 3:2).
The psalmist in his own time equally asked The Most High God for similar revival, "Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" (Ps 85:6). When there is life there is joy, that one escape dying surely gladdens the heart. "Revival is the only answer to the present crisis in the church and in the world" (W. C. Moore, Herald of His Coming, June 1992, page 10).
Today the Church has entered into the world and the world has entered into the church. The dressing (mostly ladies), the crazing and graving for money under the disguise of prosperity and many more proves this statement. And when one asks question[s]? The answer to all these is IT DOESN'T MATTER!? In all these there is no argument but in need of REVIVAL FIRE through Holy Spirit who will restore life in Christ. "To get the hungry and the humble Christians ready for the coming of the Lord, with lamps all trimmed and burning and vessels filled with oil-filled with Holy Ghost" (W. C. Moore, Herald of His Coming, August 1993 page 5).
As John the Baptist revived his people in his own time in preparation to receive the savior of the world we must go on revival now for the church needs it.

In evangelism awareness is created for people to know the love of God for the whole world and God's passion to bring them back unto Himself through His son Jesus Christ of Nazareth. "As Christians we have the world's greatest message (that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)) and He will return again to this earth (Titus 2:13)" (W. D. Kennedy, God Answers to mans Questions).
Then it is expedient for Christians to win souls as commissioned, "... and he that winneth soul is wise" (Proverbs 11:30).
